Requirements
 |

OSHA requires awareness level training to all employees who may
come in contact with a hazardous material while they are at work. |
 |
|
These employees must be properly instructed on the
identification of the hazardous material/s, the physical and health
hazards of the hazardous material/s, the proper selection and use of
Personal Protective Equipment, proper evacuation methods and who to
contact in the event of an emergency. |
Program
Duration:
Awareness level training is a minimum of 2 hours and may be
extended to include customer specific needs, such as, general ammonia
system review and any other areas of customer interest.
Program
Contents:
Awareness level training provides a general overview of Anhydrous
Ammonia, Ammonium Hydroxide and/or Urea including, but not limited to, the
following areas:

OSHA
requires all operators/employees who directly handle hazardous materials
to be thoroughly trained to a minimal level of Operations.

|
This level allows employees to perform defensive actions while
evacuating from an emergency situation.
|
 |
|
They must be instructed on the identification of the hazardous
material/s on-site, proper selection and use of Personal Protective
Equipment, the shut-down of critical equipment in the event of an
emergency, proper evacuation methods and procedures and trained personnel
to contact in the event of an emergency situation. |

Operations level training is a minimum of 8 hours and may be
extended to include customer specific needs.

The Operations level program provides specific training in the
proper storage, handling and transport of hazardous materials.
